“VOICE OF AFRICA” is an upbeat inspirational musical ensemble comprised of 16 members from different African countries, with a mission of ONE VOICE and ONE VISION. This group is truly reflective of the diversity within the African culture. Their common bond is musical talent and a passion to serve God through song.
VOA was founded in 2005 by Tecla Tawonezvi after being appointed to put together a Praise Team to represent the African Continent at the Azusa Centennial 100th Anniversary Commemoration in Los Angeles, California.
In 2006, the group came under the direction of Bongani Buthelezi as the Choir Director and Hope Ssekiziyivu as the Music Director. The group has received much recognition and numerous accolades for their inspirational performances, excellence in singing, and the talent the musicians have on the various instruments. VOA regularly performs in Churches, concerts, and any avenue that an opportunity for ministry opens. The existence of Voice of Africa is a key asset to the African and American communities.
